With Stencil®, the space is your playground. Stencil is a creative modular direct and/or indirect lighting system at the forefront of Axis innovations. It offers the flexibility to develop stunning linear and nonlinear layouts in open-plan offices, public areas and other architectural spaces.
For every space, there is a Stencil luminaire.
- Stencil Pendant is cost-effective for creating forms and patterns of all sizes using Hubs, a range of connectors combining mechanical, electrical and suspension functions.
- Stencil Surface features an innovative attachment system with concealed hardware that provides installation freedom on and off the grid, including drywall and concrete ceilings.
- Stencil SoftZone Pendant is a flexible acoustic lighting solution for creating horizontal architectural pendant concepts with sound attenuation properties. Stencil Triangle and Stencil Hexagon are easy-to-order pendant elements featured in the Axis Forms Collection.

Stencil is our slimmest luminaire, featuring a streamlined 1” aperture form factor. Only two other Axis products share that form factor: Spatial SoftZone, a 3D version of Stencil SoftZone Pendant, and; StencilFlex, a cost-effective, adaptable line voltage system for delivering layers of light anywhere in a space. Most Stencil luminaires are equipped with an integral mini driver that simplifies specification and installation, while requiring fewer power drops.

With Hubs, bring light wherever you need it. Stencil Hubs are patented, non-illuminated die-cast soft-corner joiners designed to make branching off easy. Combining mechanical, electrical and suspension functions, they require just a simple captive spring-loaded screw mechanism to install.

Indirect lighting powered by SurroundLite
An exclusive Axis innovation, SurroundLite™ delivers a wide 3D distribution and balanced luminance. As a result, it provides added design freedom while enabling the use of fewer and more widely spaced indirect segments. Given Stencil’s slim 1” extrusion, Axis developed a miniaturized version – Mini SurroundLite – for Stencil Pendant, Stencil Pendant D/I and Stencil SoftZone Pendant. Patented Mini SurroundLite technology supplies the lighting power of a fixture four times its size. Also, it maintains lighting uniformity in a space when alternating between direct and indirect Stencil Pendant segments.

- Easy-to-clean panels made from polyester fill containing at least 40% of recycled PET plastic.

- Open and closed horizontal forms featuring full or partial paneling, as well as unlit SoftZone panels, to layer sound attenuation.
- Integration with building systems (e.g. sprinklers, ventilation) by creating openings through and between SoftZone panels.
